Theatrical Bio: Jeffrey Holub has worked in a variety of theater productions over the past 25 years.  He has designed and built puppets props, sets, and lighting for several professional production companies including: Second City, Chicago; The Arena Stage, Washington DC; and Theatre X, Modjeska Theatre Company, Milwaukee Dance Theater, Milwaukee Public Theatre, Post Romantic Theatre, First Stage Children’s Theater and Milwaukee Mask and Puppet Theatre, Milwaukee.  Productions include: Ballad of Josef K; Phantasmagoria, Smoldering Fires, Variety ‘68, Kafka’s The Trial, Survival Revival, Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, The Joe McCarthy Variety Show, Apollo of Bellac, Stones of Wisdom, Einstein: Hero of the Mind, and What the Butler Saw.   Experience with Youth:   Mr. Holub taught 2 sessions of marionette workshops to 8th graders for The Milwaukee Jewish Day School, 2004 - 2005. Students met twice weekly for 8 weeks.  Each designed, created, and completed an individual marionette.  Materials and experience included: cutting and carving wood, casting and sculpting paper mache, painting, sewing of costumes, and the stringing of mechanisms for movement. The sets and props for The Skylight’s Stories that Sing at the Vieau School 2008; Ruach’s Telling Stories with Art at YES and Hillel 2008 Too Hot for TV 2006, and High Skoo High 2007 at The Boys and Girls Clubs of Milwaukee and an original play Our Fifth Grade Lives with Artists Working in Education (AWE) and the Longfellow School’s staff and students. The Olmec Head 2007 was written and produced in association with Walker’s Point Center for the Arts and the Forrest Home Elementary School for 3rd to 5th Graders. Additionally, he has worked with First Stage Children’s Theater Youth Company on the use of puppets, masks, and props in the presentations of Stones of Wisdom, featured at Summerfest, 2003; and Smoldering Fires, at the Todd Wehr Theatre, 2006. In 2012 he did puppet projects with 4 classes at the Keefe Ave. School making 125 take home rod puppets and 3 short shows for the whole school and parents.
