Peggy Pharr Wilson was born and raised in Dallas, Texas (6th generation Texan) where she received her BFA from Baylor University, but missed her college graduation ceremony to begin her first professional job with the Creede Repertory Theatre in Creede, Colorado. Wilson was in the acting company there for three years, met a really cute techie boy named Tristan Wilson and had a summer romance that has lasted over 25 years. The two then moved to Kansas City where they worked for several theatres and co-wrote the book for the cult musical hit, SIX WOMEN WITH BRAIN DEATH, or EXPIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW. It has played steadily for over 25 years and counting. Peggy Pharr Wilson has performed her own role in the show four times; in Kansas City, Chicago, Dallas (where it broke the record for longest running show) and in New York City, off Broadway. For 10 years Peggy Pharr Wilson was in the resident acting company of the Creede Repertory Theatre, performing over 50 roles. She won the Denver Post s Ovation Award for best actress in a musical for her performance as Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD. She now lives in the beautiful Berkshires in Massachusetts where her husband is the Managing Director at the Barrington Stage Company.
