Hello,
I'm directing Side By Side By Sondheim w/ Pompano Players in Pompano, FL. We're interested in casting the Narrator as female, but before we make any offers, I'd like to make sure that's acceptable with the rights organization. May we do so?

Hi! The gender in the character descriptions refers to the gender of the character, not the actor. As long as lyrics and dialogue are not changed, this is usually fine.
However, if you do wish to propose changes to the show itself for your production, you must submit them to your licensing representative for approval.
