Hiccup

Son of Viking chief Stoick, wants to be a fierce Viking like his father, but he simply… isn’t. What Hiccup lacks in physical strength and fighting skills, he makes up for in brainpower and problem-solving skills. Hiccup is sincere and always wants to do the right thing, even when it’s hard or goes against the grain.

Astrid

Everything a Viking recruit should be: strong, fast, and tough. She idolizes Stoick and wants to hunt Dragons, perfecting every part of her training. Astrid is confident and charismatic but not arrogant, and she takes training very seriously.

Ruffnut

Ruffnut and Tuffnut are twins. They talk tough and want to be dragon slayers, but they are not quite as capable as Astrid and tend to argue with each other.

Snotlout

A bit of a loudmouth. He’s not necessarily mean; he’s just competitive and wants to impress everyone. Cast an actor who can command the stage and lean into Snotlout’s obnoxious streak.

Tuffnut

Ruffnut and Tuffnut are twins. They talk tough and want to be dragon slayers, but they are not quite as capable as Astrid and tend to argue with each other.

Fishlegs

He's doing his best. Like Hiccup, he’s not the most naturally gifted Viking, but he tries.

Recruits

Dane, Frostbite, Lumi, Brita, Sungrass, and Tig are the other recruits.

Stoick

The Viking chief and main dragon slayer. Though he may come across as harsh, he’s only hard on Hiccup because he wants to keep him safe. He knows the more well-trained his recruits are, the safer the whole village will be.

Gobber

The village blacksmith and helps train the Recruits. While he’s a little bit goofy, he knows how to deal with Dragons and is an excellent teacher.

Phlegma

Phlegma, Hoarck, and Gertrud are Adult Vikings with a few lines and small solos.

Hoarck

Phlegma, Hoarck, and Gertrud are Adult Vikings with a few lines and small solos.

Gender: male

Gertrud

Phlegma, Hoarck, and Gertrud are Adult Vikings with a few lines and small solos.

Vocal range bottom: Ab3

Adult Vikings

Burnthair, Nore, Darby, Ack, Gudrun, and Frida are Adult Vikings with no solos.

Toothless

A Night Fury, the most mysterious of all Dragon species. Though Toothless is unsure at first about working with Hiccup, they become fast friends.

The Red Death

Controls all the other Dragons.

Vocal range bottom: Ab3

Skrills

Described as fast and agile. Gronckles have six fire blasts before their power is depleted. Husky, Musky, and Lusky are used by Gobber to train the Recruits. Musky is defeated by Astrid during training while Husky and Lusky spar with the Recruits.

Zipplebacks

Two-headed Dragons considered dangerous by the Vikings. Farley and Charley have a few short solos and spoken lines.

Timerjacks

Described as large with small wings. Tuna, Luna, and Bruna sing solos and have featured moments.

Vocal range bottom: A3

Thunderdrums

Reclusive, living in underwater caves and tide pools. BELLY and JELLY have lines and sing solos.

Vocal range top: Bb4

Vocal range bottom: A3

Skrills

Described as fast and agile. Lash and Dash sing solos and have featured moments.

Vocal range top: B4

Vocal range bottom: G#3

Scauldrons

Live in tide pools and ponds and breathe scalding-hot water. Sparky and Marky have significant solos and individual lines.

Vocal range bottom: D4

Changewings

They spit acid. Tuck and Huck sing solos and have a few featured lines.

Vocal range top: G#4

Vocal range bottom: G#3

Deadly Nadders

Have sharp spines. Blitz is a bit of a nervous Dragon.
