Laura is a playwright and screenwriter from the East Midlands who has written more than 40 original plays and adaptations of classic novels, commissioned by theatres including the Almeida Young Company, East Riding Theatre and Hull Truck. Her plays have been performed across China, the UK and Europe. In March 2020, Laura established her own theatre company, Fury Theatre to focus on female stories told with fire. She is Associate Playwright at Chapterhouse Theatre Company, Novo Productions and the Petersfield Shakespeare Festival. For screen, Laura has worked with the BBC, BFI Network, Urban Apache Films, Inceptive Films, Seahorse Films and Lost Eye Films amongst others. She is a member of BAFTA Crew and European Cultural Parliament Future Generations and is a current Woman of the Future for Arts & Culture. She has written three features and several film & TV projects in development and is a selected writer for BIFA Springboard 2021/22. Laura is passionate about bringing unheard female stories to the stage and screen across all her work.
